Candy Corn Amazingness

Recipe For Candy Corn Amazingness

The recipe is a modified version of my sugar cookies. So, the sugar cookie recipe is as follows...(I always 4x the recipe otherwise it doesn't make very much. AND, plan on making the dough a day before you want to make the cookies...it has to refrigerate for 4 hours.)
(4x the recipe)
2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 C. butter (4x is 5 sticks)
1 C. sugar1 egg,
Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla

* Then this is what you will need for the "modified" version
Orange food coloring
Orange zest (4 oranges)
Juice from half of one orange
Dark chocolateWhite chocolate

*For best results, use chocolate used for candy making. It hardens shiny and you can stack the cookies without the chocolate melting and smudging.

*Mix dry ingredients together and set aside
*Cream butter, sugar, egg and milk in separate bowl
*Add vanilla
*Zest 4 oranges in wet ingredients
*Cut one orange in half and squeeze juice of one half into wet ingredients
*Add food coloring and blend well
*Mix in dry ingredients
*Refrigerate 4 hours
*Preheat oven to 350 degrees
*Roll out and cut with candy corn shaped cookie cutter
*Bake for 10 minutes
*Let cool completely
*Line separate cookie sheet with wax paper
*Melt chocolate in microwavable bowls
*Dip base of cookie in dark chocolate and place on wax paper
*Pop in freezer for a few minutes until chocolate hardens
*Repeat, dipping tips in white chocolate
Enjoy!

Happy baking everyone! Let me know how it goes...
